Spanish!!! Again!!!!

So...Lately I've been doing my Biology coursework, and have subsequently finished a whole tube of Wasabi. But now I'm working on my Spanish homework...and it's DULL!!!!! I have to write an essay as research, for Spanish, about a Spanish-speaking region, and I've chosen Mexico City (and yes I've looked it up, it is a region in itself).

Anyway...considering that it's the weekend I should relax with my homework, right? Wrong! With parents who are as thick as they come, they don't understand that I can work to the best of my ability without being bored to death! i.e. READ EVERY BOOK ON A SUBJECT!!!! I know many of you are thinking, reading is good, it's fun! Yes it is fun, and yes I have read books, many actually in my lifetime...BUT IT DOESN'T HELP ME IN MY STUDIES!!!! Usually factual books are just boring and I cannot read one in about a week. I have to read it over several months! This is because it does no good for me! I'd rather learn using my hands (and no innuendo intended). I like practical things, like holding a camera, deciding for myself, whether a certain angle fits a picture, etc. But...THEY JUST DON'T UNDERSTAND THIS!!!!

Thankfully the course I have applied to for University are all (mainly) hands on! I don't think I can just sit there without doing anything productive, besides taking notes! ><

Anyway, I will be returning to my Spanish essay, and hop that it works out for the best. As always do with this as you will, and remember God loves you and will help you with anything you ask Him to.

Reality Has Become Fantasy

Due to my major mood swings (since I am a woman, and I do have these problems) I have decided to put up a picture, which I found on www.deviantart.com, on this blog, all about fantasy, so that you can think about what reality and fantasy mean for you...as always, do with this as you will...

Based on the four elements, I found this really cool: The four daughters of Earth:
Earth, Water, Fire and Air.

I was recently fascinated by tales of old, especially folklore of the Fair Folk, they say that if these dazzling creatures fall in love, and you break their hearts, they could die from it...

A Law of Transparency

Right, well, I'll be starting this post off saying how great a particular movie was...that movie...is...Skyfall! Yes I know, some may hate it, others may think it so exciting that it will be one of the major events that have happened in their lives. Well...I'm one of those people. I fell in love with James Bond, because the hype. Actually, I told myself, I will not get involved with the hype, after all it's just a movie...wrong. As the time came closer for our booked viewing, my sister and I got so excited, that we compared our father's driving skills to that of James Bond! YES WE DID! And I am ashamed to say this, but it was worth it!

Anyway, going off topic, the reason I titled this post as "A Law of Transparency" is because there was a parallel between real life, and the movie, which may not have been noticed, or intended. And as a Media Studies student, I shall be inclined to think that the "text" was intended with a negotiated view/reading, since there are multiple meanings that I have discovered. One was the security aspect of the movie. You see the villain, was very well versed in computer techniques, I mean he could hack into any computer system and shutdown a country, if he wanted to. This very much reminded me of a book that I am currently reading, (for media studies) about a controversial topic, about governmental secrets exposed by a certain website, namely WikiLeaks. Anyway, in the book I read that Julian Assange, had hacked into the Guardian internal network, and read the contents of emails of the editors of that newspaper. You can see why I think that the movie is connected in a way, anyway, I don't think the producers intended it, but I just found that little tidbit, which I found interesting, and it got me thinking, about the topic.

If there are hackers who can access practically everything, are we really safe? And I don't just mean physically, because no matter what we do, no matter what legislation the government issues, there will always be a threat in cyberspace, because these hackers can access anything, if they tried.

So...what can we do to tackle this? Well, I don't really know, I mean a law of transparency, as Assange puts it, is something that we all need to face, after all the internet is full of opportunities to make transparent things that we know, which we don't want others to know (if that makes sense). But if we do, and we put everything out there that is in all effect private information, what about fraud? How will we know that someone else isn't taking our names and abusing it? As Shakespeare once declared, in a most famous play, that everyone knows, "What's in a name? A rose by any other would smell as sweet?" well...yes it would, but it identifies it. If we were all the same, like robots in a production line, we wouldn't know who's who, it all comes down to identification.

So, what do you think? Should we make everything transparent, or not? I understand why the government would want to keep a few secrets, but secrets that could be vital for the public to know? I don't know, maybe it's something they can't say, because of a reason or another, but in any case, it's their decision.

Now, back to the movie, it was (as the Americans put it) AWESOME!!!!! I loved it, and the ending is especially sad...those who've watched it. You know what I mean!...I didn't cry at any particular thing, except the car...One question...in all the Bond movies...why, and I emphasize WHY! Do they practically disintegrate the CARS!!!!!! I DON'T UNDERSTAND!!!!! THEY ARE PERFECTLY CAPABLE OF NOT DAMAGING IT OR COMPLETELY ANNIHILATING THEM!!!!! This is the one thing that I will cry about! Those cars are so beautiful. Note to the producers: STOP DESTROYING THE BEAUTIFUL CARS!!!!!! ><

Anyway, as always, do with this post what you will...God bless! ^^
