A Little Bit Of Philosophy

So, update time. I'm currently watching The Lord of the Rings (the first two movies, since the last will be aired late tonight), and reading a book I had won in a raffle, a few years ago. It's called Rediscovering Catholicism, by Matthew Kelly (2002). As I'm watching, and typing this, it has come to my attention that these things have given me inspiration to write! Remember, Tolkien, the original author of the books, was a Catholic, and a philosophical thinker, and this faith has grabbed the attention of the world. I hope to do that, even though I know it will be a very hard thing to do.

I hope with my stories, the world can be seen in different eyes. You see, whilst my story is fantasy, and while it doesn't point directly back to God or the Christian faith, I hope that if you read my story, and find inspiration to believe in God, or whatever higher power best suits you. I know it's not something you'll all agree with, especially those who are rather cynical atheists, but I know that it's not something I can force you to do. I'm not going to argue a point, because it would be useless against your will. However, know this, it is useless to force attention upon someone who does not wish it. It is useless to force your belief on others. Yes argue your point, debate your belief, but do not force someone to convert. It was what destroyed cultures of the past, it is what is currently destroying relationships between people. It is what is destroying today's culture and society. Think of the uprisings today, some are peaceful protests that ask for freedom of those oppressed, but others, many others, are of greed and fuelled by an anger that should never have walked this Earth.

Ok, so that's a bit philosophical, but it is my need for balance that spurns me to write it. As for my story, I have begun to write again, and the draft will be going slowly, but hopefully I can bring it here by the end of this summer.

I know it's short, and I know it can be argued against but this is my belief. So as always, do what you will with this post, and I'll see you next time. God Bless ^^

Overwhelming Inspiration

Ok, so I have to put this out there:

I was browsing through fantasy pictures and the like, and I came across one particular picture that just stole my breath away.

So how did I find it? Well, I was searching for a "warrior princess" look for the story, which you'll understand once I put this novel out there (if ever!), and most of the ones I saw were all Asian looking (because  fantasy warrior princesses are Asian - sure), and yes this one is Asian too, but I swear someone read my mind, and only now am I seeing this!

Ok. In my story, there's a celestial being who kinda helps with everything, and I have a very clear picture of who she is and what she looks like, and when I saw this picture, I thought it was her!

Ladies and gentlemen, may I introduce to you Tara, the eldest of the Great Seven, Guardian of Fate and Queen of the Universe.

I swear she is exactly who Tara is. She is defender of life, she is the wisest of all beings in the universe of the Great Seven!

Draft Two Complete!

Update Time:

Ok so you all know I've been working on draft two of The Great Seven: Earth and now I've finally completed it. There will be a draft three and four, just so I can whittle down the grammar, spelling and punctuation mistakes, not to mention, making the story easier to read. 

Now, I've given you a quick summary of the story (which I will finalise when I do upload this story), and a view of my main character, so for this update I'll give you an idea of what my heroine's love interest looks like:

This picture isn't the one I based him on, but it's very close. So with this image, imagine brighter hair (platinum - like Legolas' father in LOTR) and instead of green, it's blue...although I didn't think of the highlights...I might add that to the third/fourth draft.

Now that I've finished this draft, I'm trying to get my reviewers to read my story as soon as possible, but I know they won't finish it as soon as possible, but here's hoping. If you, who're reading my blog out there, want to read this rough story, please message me/comment on here, and let me know if you'd like to read a fantasy novel (beware there is mature content scattered about in this story), and help make the grammar, spelling and punctuation better. Back In The Film Industry

Hello everyone, today, Monday 22nd September, is the day I officially start my second year at university. Yes I'm back in uni, so the story updates and editing will take a little longer due to projects and exercises that I'll have to do, since this year counts towards my final grade...So...wish me luck!

Anyway, so far I'm nearly halfway through editing the second draft of this story, and as a consequence new chapters have been added, because the first draft wasn't quite up to scratch, but I have refined it, and it's probably going to be longer than I initially thought it would be. So far, I have around 250 pages (A5)...not sure if that is an average book size but it's getting there...I think.

As for university and work...well...(*smirk*) In uni we are going to be working on documentaries, something I haven't had the joy of experiencing. Hopefully this year, it won't be horrific, and I hope my group (whoever I work with) and I will be able to come up with something a whole lot better than last year. Well that's one module, the other two, for this semester are Screenwriting and Recording Reality, I'm not quite sure what these modules involve, but when I do find out, I'll let you know, although, one of them seems to be pretty straightforward...the other, I'm guessing is a theory based one, since it's the same lecturer I had for the theory last year.

Work-wise, I'm actually pretty excited. You see, just before I took to blogger, I had received a phone call from an employer I'd contacted earlier this year (calendar not academic), and he has invited to speak to me personally about an internship role that I was applying for! I think I might get the job (it's unpaid, but hopefully if things go well I might end up getting paid); it's too early to tell, but if I do, I will have the experience I will probably need to one up others in my course! I really want this job, I would love being production assistant, you know researching, planning, and all that. I do like that stuff, since it's pretty much my area of expertise. Anyway, I really do hope I can get this job, because my sister already has one (a part-time in a Ryman's shop...it's still a job!) and well it just much more pressure to get one, and I don't like being compared to her, so hopefully I get it! Well, wish me good luck you guys! I'm going to need it.

The Battle Is Over!!!!

I have officially completed DRAFT ONE of this new story, and I am happy to announce the title of this story!

Over the course of the month I have torn many a hair out, ripped many a page, and had many fits of rage and self-loathing in which I almost flung my laptop to the wall. I have suffered what I believe is chronic slouching, because of the many days I've spent, bent over this stupid laptop! Luckily I have discovered the luxury of cushions, against the hard back of a dining chair, so I'm not suffering as much, but still...chronic slouch!

Ugh! It is so good to know I no longer have to sit day and night at this laptop, finishing this story. Soon it will be up and in the public on a new blog. Yes I will be making a new blog to showcase this new story. The colour scheme will make sense if you read the story. As I said before I will be posting latest chapter to first because it makes more sense to read it that way.

Ok so the name of this mysterious story...it is...

The Great Seven: Earth

Yes that's right you see it! That is the name. I will not write up the summary, although I think you can guess it, but the reason why I'm not even going to attempt to write the summary, is because I don't think I can write one without spoiling it. I will write one though, once I finish the second draft. So wait out for that.
